Common issues when publishing to Platsbanken

Here, we list common issues that can lead to error messages when publishing an ad to Platsbanken.

Platsbanken is one of the largest job posting sites in Sweden! Due to its size, their platform has certain formatting requirements for ads in order for them to be published.

Here, we go through them and things to keep in mind when publishing to Platsbanken 😄

Headline

  • The title/headline of the ad must not be more than 75 characters including spaces.

Case details

  • The name of the organisation/department where the ad will be published must not be more than 80 characters including spaces.

  • No classification may be specified as "Unspecified".

  • The last application date must not be more than 180 days from the publication date.

In the ad

  • The fields "Salary Type", "Salary Type Description", "Salary Benefit", and "Compensation" can in total contain a maximum of 255 characters, including spaces.

  • The fields "Extent", "Describe Extent", "Type of Employment", "Work Hours", "Access", "Limited To", "Duration", "Work Hours Description", "Access Description", "Description of Limitation", "Duration Description", and "Schedule" can in total contain a maximum of 255 characters, including spaces.

  • For each new field regarding "Access" that is used, Platsbanken counts 11 characters per field.

  • The fields “About the Workplace”, “Tasks”, “Qualifications”, and “Other Information” can in total contain a maximum of 6500 characters, including spaces.

  • The link for more information must be a valid link without any spaces, no å, ä, ö, invalid characters, etc.

    • The link must not be more than 100 characters including spaces.

Contact persons

  • The title of a contact person must not be more than 50 characters including spaces.

  • Telephone numbers must not be more than 25 characters including spaces.

  • A maximum of 7 contact persons is allowed. Of these, you can have a maximum of:

    • 4 company contacts.

    • 3 union contacts.

Generally in all free text fields

  • No dashes (longer hyphens, –)

  • No pasted bullet lists (instead, use the system's function to create bullet lists!)

  • No &-symbols

Other things to keep in mind!

The above points apply when you create a case and an ad, but there are also certain things that must be on your account for Platsbanken to accept the publication of the ad 😊

  • There must be a specified address, either in your account settings or in the organisation's settings. This includes the visiting address, postal address, postal code, and city.

  • The user who publishes the advertisement must have an email registered to their account.

  • If the organisation you are publishing the ad on has its own organisation number in the organisation settings, then the organisation must also have its own employer account registered with Platsbanken, with its own customer ID. If the organisation isn't meant to have its own employer account with Platsbanken, no organisation number should be entered for the organisation, and no unique customer ID should exist. If this is set up correctly then the ad will be published through the main organisation's employer account.
